Pure Growth Innovations and Maria 01 have joined forces to bring sustainability to the startup masses. Not just for impact startups, the two-part event will look for practical ways that all startup teams can start taking steps towards sustainability.

This evening session will feature a panel discussion exploring what sustainability means for startups. Want more? Join us already on Sustainability Week Day 1 (May 28th) for a morning workshop on understanding carbon footprints. All participants will also receive a link to an online resource bank with tools for further action.

24 April 2019: WWF Green Office Network event

Members from across the WWF Green Office network met to explore motivating environmental action across the workplace. Along with speakers from WWF and Sitra, co-founder Anna Pakkala joined the event to share how Slush has made sustainability into an organization-wide initiative.

18 March 2019: What is an impact startup?

As part of Collision, the Shortcut's Sustainable Entrepreneurship Week, our co-founder Liz Miller gave a workshop about how to address the UN Sustainable Development Goals on a local level through entrepreneurship. The Shortcut’s mission is to inspire and empower people from diverse backgrounds to join Helsinki’s startup ecosystem.

8 March 2019: Sharing economy in the Nordics report launch

Think tank Agenda’s report launch on the Sharing Economy in the Nordics gathered perspectives from research, politics, business and sustainability. Co-founder Anna Pakkala joined the panel discussion to share insights on how the sharing economy could advance, or hinder, sustainability goals.

13 February 2019: What is tech doing to save the planet?

The need for positive impact has now became a pillar in this fast changing environment powered by the boom of tech startups. Technology must be a positive force for the planet, economy and society. Should companies be held accountable for their impacts on the planet? Pure Growth co-founder Anna Pakkala spoke at the Helsinki edition of the VivaTech Tour to discuss this hot topic.

Each event includes networking, succinct expert presentations and a demo from a start-up making circular economy a reality.

15 June 2017: Climate Launchpad Finland Finals

ClimateLaunchpad is the world’s largest green business ideas competition, and we were honored to make it to the 2017 Finland national finals. Although we had a different name back then, our founders Anna and Liz together pitched the company that would become Pure Growth.
